Good value? .... not so sure but the Company reaction was excellent.
We normally get our suet fat balls from the RSPB. Slightly more expensive I know but it terms of overall diameter they are certainly bigger and heavier. I reckon that from them each ball weighs in at approx 90-95g's. These fat balls are very small. I would guess, and it is a guess, that these fat balls weigh about 75-80g's per ball. Take that together with the wastage factor, that is to say the number of crushed suet balls at the base of the very primitive cardboard delivery box that they are packaged in, and it works out certainly more expensive that perhaps another brand sold here on Amazon, or indeed from the RSPB, at around 17p per ball. For the price we paid it does not take a genius to work out that these smaller fat balls work out at exactly 16p per fat ball, incl p+p, and assuming that there are indeed 150 fat balls in the box, given that they all appear to be all thrown in there with a rather excessive amount of fat ball crumbs together with crushed balls in the bottom of the...
Fat balls
These were quite soft and crumbled . So a large quantity were just mush in the bottom of the box. Would not recommend them
Bird Feast
These are cheaper than fat balls bought locally from garden centres or pet shops and the birds certainly love them. They encourage into the garden every type of tit, reed buntings, greater spotted woodpecker, etc. Blackbirds have mastered the art of clinging on to the feeders and we even get a jay visiting us regularly to feed on the balls. Yes - some are messy eaters but what they drop is eaten by ground feeding birds.
Excellent service from 'twootz' too. We received our order a mere 27 hours of placing theorder via amazon.co.uk
