Pond air pump
Bought to replace an old air pump which was underpowered and had stopped working.
Initial reaction was that it was a well designed piece of kit, easy to install and control air flow.
Unfortunately pump stopped operating after 24hrs and would then only work at maximum output which was too much for the pond.
Using a lower setting was either not possible or if it was it then stopped running after a short while.
Pump returned to supplier who replaced by return (new pump received in three days from sending the old one).
New pump has now been working well for a week with no problems.
Original appears therefore to have been a rogue unit as I have several other Hozelock items which have given excellent service over many years.
Excellent speedy service from Aquatics2u.
Mixed experience

It's immediately obvious that this one is much superior build quality and it's so much quieter than the old one. The fact that it's weatherproof (many aren't) is an additional advantage. The air stones it comes with are weedy (c.25mm/1 inch) though and aren't heavy enough to sink with the buoyancy of the plastic air tube. I've immediately replaced them with 50mm ones recently bought in a pack of 6 for
