Hamster Cage
I found this cage a bit tricky to put together, but once done it's quite good. My Syrian hamster looked so
bored in her other cage as she didn't have as many layers to go on or tubes through that she could fit in, but she
really seems to love this one. Although I would change the wheel as it was a bit small and perhaps would
do for baby hamsters to begin with, also the doors come open easily but can easily be wedged to stop them opening.
Overall though I think she likes it alot.

Having recently purchased the "Beckingham" cage from Posh Pets I thought I would share my thoughts;
Most importantly be aware that the cage now comes with WIRE PLATFORMS and not the plastic ones shown in the photos. It's in the product description but I missed it, as I had been researching for a while from different sites. (It's also available from ebay by same seller for the same price).
WIRE PLATFORMS aren't suitable for hamsters.
A quick google will back this statement up.
I modified mine by machining up four new shelves from clear plastic sheet and fitting over the original WIRE PLATFORMS. Problem solved. Luckily I have access to a decent machine shop. If you don't want to modify the cage and care about your pets wellbeing then look for a different cage.
Some of the accessories are very poor quality; particularly the little house and wheel. I plan to replace mine as soon as I can. The wheel is too small for an adult Syrian anyway as...
beckingham palace hamster cage
jimmy my Syrian hamster loved his cage.when buying this cage i was worried about jimmy getting stuck in the tubs as he is a chubby hamster but it was fine. I was glad it had the metal level as jimmy last cage had plastic ones and he chew them to bits. The only thing i did not like was the ladders but you can take them out i was also surprised at the price as when i bought one last time it was eighty pounds without the tubs.The wheel and the house where a bit plastic but they do not cost much to replace but only because i wanted wood ones the cage and everything was big enough for my Syrian hamster and instead of sleeping because he was bored he is running around having fun
