C J Wildbird Foods Cj Squirrel Feeder Green Metal

excellent product
I must have the most resourceful and daring squirrel in the whole of London. Squirrel proof birdfeeders, squirrel proof birdfood, squirrel dome .... nothing worked and it cost me a fortune. Whatever I tried, squirrel won. After I found him hanging off the seed feeder, tipping the contents into his mouth through the metal cage, and emptying the feeder at frightening speed, I decided to give up the fight and provide the squirrel with his own dinner. I read a few reviews and decided on the metal feeder rather than a wooden one, which some people seem to have had trouble with. I have now had the feeder for about 10 days. We installed it far enough away from the birds but in full view so I can watch from the window. It took the squirrel a few days to find the feeder. We put a stick in it first to prop the lid open slightly and teach the squirrel how to help himself. And I put a few peanuts on the ledge every morning to show him what's on offer. Worked a treat. The squirrel worked out the...
Squirrel feeder that the squirrel approves of
I have tried wooden feeders before this one, only to have the squirrel pull the plastic front out so that it can get at the nuts easily. Then the pigeons have moved in. With this feeder, the squirrel has so far used it correctly. It is also easier to clean. No more pigeon problem and I can still enjoy the squirrels antics. Great.
Metal Squirrel Feeder
I am very pleased with this product. It is well made with robust metal, with holes to attached to tree/post etc. It has a clear circular tube to contain the food which is easy to clean. I have a band of squirrels who are constantly knawing their way through numerous nut feeders. The squirrels chase the small birds away and so I thought the best solution was to give them their own feeder which can't be destroyed. It took a week before they clued up on how to raid the feeder by lifting the lid, but once accomplished it is great fun to watch the antics of feeding by dipping in and sitting on the metal sill, or diving down upsidedown to grab their favourite morsel. I have located the feeder far enough away from the house so I can watch, but far enough away not to be a nuisance, as another purchaser mentioned, the lid does make a noise when clonking back down. It keeps the squirrels occupied while leaving the birds free to eat in peace.
