Close up and Personal
Great birdfeeder. Unlike previous purchases this one stays firmly fixed to the window (yet is easy to move) and has given us hours of close observation. Not surprised it won an award. Well worth the money and a great gift.
Best window feeder I have used
I realise my experience may not be typical of all users, but hope the following is helpful to some.
The first window feeder I used was the Meripac Window Feeder Whilst it was successful, it attracted pigeons and magpies which could easily sit on it, and the feeding tray was usually empty within 30 minutes. Also, large birds invariably knock off the fat balls. I therefore purchased a classic vertical tube feeder Discovery Window Seed Bird Feeder which for some reason perplexed the tits. For several weeks, they hovered around it, but would not land on the perches.
I therefore tried this product - I put it up one the evening, and by 8.00 the next morning, the tits were using it - they really seem to like it as they can both sit on the perches, and put their heads in the large holes to select what they wish to eat.
As one...
Great bird feeder
This is a great little feeder but don't do what I did and attach it too close to a window sill or side wall/fence as a squirrel (I think) managed to grab it and knock it off the window and it broke. I've stuck it back together and have now placed it higher up the window and its fine.
