It's fast and furious, in the dried mealworm round!
Being the proud owner of two feeding stations that see significantly more bird activity than I do, I finally decided to overcome my squeamishness and get myself 1kg of mealworms. They are positively skin-crawling in appearance, but I am happy to be doing the very best I can for my feathered friends. I am already forking out a small fortune every week for coconut halves, fat balls, peanuts and seed, but what is the point of having savings nowadays anyway?
I targeted the feeding station in the front garden, since it is right outside my window. What I saw, was incredible - terrifying even, in a Tippi Hedren kind of a way. One starling, motoring through these mealworms like the winner of an eating competition. Followed by another starling, and then another. Within five minutes I had a small flock outside, all arguing and shouting at each other. Great entertainment, even better than 'EastEnders' (mind you, that's not much of a recommendation). them with me when I am gardening and throw a few to the robins who devour them immediately.Will purchase again.
