Very good item for a hungry cat
I bought two of these. Why?. Have two cats, and one of them really likes food. Alot. The hungry cat cannot be allowed to eat freely as it gains incredibly amount of weight - which of course is not good. It will eat the other cats food as well.
The main reason to use an item like this is to be able to give your pet food when you are away during working hours and to give your cat food during night time which allows you to sleep without a "crazy-hungry" cat.
With this despenser the cats is able to eat during the night, early morning and lunch time (or wathever you set it up to). They manually gets food during afternoon and evening - then the bowls is refilled.
4 times automatic feeding + 2 times manually. Thats better than my previous 3 time feedings.
Quality?
Yes it is very smart desing. Your cats have to be very strong to be able to remove the lid.
You do NOT have to remove the cap when refilling - you push the start button and it begins to do...
Good pet feeder for medicine
We bought this feeder to ensure that our cat has its medicine when it should. The feeder is quite robust and it is not very difficult to learn how to set the timer correctly. The feeder has four compartments so you can program up to four meals, the only problem we've found is that it took our cat less than five minutes to open the lid of the exposed compartment. The lid covering this one is not very well secured, just by pushing a bit it can slip from a small latch and be opened. Fortunately, as the other three compartments are under the bigger lid and are not exposed until its the time they can be used as intended.
I would recommend this feeder without doubt and I am most probably buying another one, but if your main reason for buying this is like ours I would ensure that your pet cannot open it easily or just use three of the four compartments.
Trixie TX4 Plus Auto Feeder
Does anyone have instructions on how to programme the feeder. We've lost ours and
besides being able to programme the clock, cannot do much else.
