Quality Product
I have bred several litters of puppies and used a wide variety of foods.
This product is enjoyed by weening puppies and they have done very well on it indeed. I soak it in water between feeds and warm it before feeding and it has a lovely texture and pleasant smell. The Skinners Puppy pack scheme has also been excellent and new owners are getting a sample of this food.
When you look at the ingredients and consider the marketing budgets of some of the more expensive brands this is a comparable product but at a considerable difference in price.
It is recommended for puppies up to 6 months and it will form the mainstay of our puppies diets.
Arrived quickly - good product
This arrived quickly and was very well-packaged and is a good price. It's the food the breeder fed my field labrador puppy on when we was weaned and, although I changed the pup's food when we got him because this wasn't available in the supermarket, I was very pleased to see it for sale on Amazon and to be able to go back to feeding him this. I have since noticed that the pup's coat is even glossier!
OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE
This review concerns the service rather than the product: the latter is as good as any dried dog food on ther market, deservedly has an excellent reputation and needs no further endorsement from me.
The courier delivered the package along with another 15kg bag of Skinners and left before I could check the contents. Close examination of the outer wrapping showed a small hole which had penetrated the Skinners bags inside. I have no doubt that this was caused by the courier whilst in transit.
I emailed Amazon straight away and pointed out that the bags had been pierced and the contents would therefore begin to go stale earlier than anticipated.
I don't know what sort of response I was expecting but the one that I received was astonishing: an immediate apology (even though the damage was almost certainly not the fault of Amazon) and an undertaking to replace both 15kg bags by express next day delivery free of charge. Now that's how to retain customer loyalty,
