Bettacare Pet Gate with Cat Flap Effective Barrier for Pets with Extensions Available, 75 - 84 cm/ 104 cm

Bettacare Pet Gate with Cat Flap
This is a great pet gate which does the job of keeping my labrador puppy in the kitchen when we need to leave her unattended.

It will also be great for the cat once the pup is too big to fit through the flap as he'll be able to come and go as he pleases again.

No problems fitting it to the doorframe. It's very robust with a catch that can easily be opened with one hand, unlike some baby gates I've come across. It has a stopper so the gate only opens one way but we've removed this so that it can open both ways.

I only have 2 'dislikes':

1) It's twice the price of the popular baby gates. I understand this is because it's a unique product and sold to a smaller market, however I'm not sure double the price of similar items represents good value.

2) The stoppers that lock the cat flap in place fold up and down very easily. In one of her strops about being shut in we watched our pup pull down one fully and the other half way down. They...

This item does exactly what it should. our cats can get upstairs and the dog can't. Although I have tied the flap up so that it remains open because the cats don't like going through it. I also found the lock on the flap usless as the cat will just jump over the gate but can't get back through the flap afterwards if the dog chases her. It is also a good way to keep the cat safe and let the animals get to know each other. Our dog has also gotten much better about chasing the cat she's now a year old. She's a border collie and although she can jump a normal stairgate this one is tall enough that she can't get over it. Although the gate sits on top of a step so that the flap still works, so it does have a little extra height.

brilliant gate. i've had it 6 months now and my 18 month old springer hasn't jumped it and she can only fit her head through the cat flap. i'm not sure the cat flap would be much use for a cat as they just jump over the gate but its a perfect size for my bichon to get through (he was always at the wrong side of the gate). my kitchen is an extension and the doorway to the living room that i use this gate for was originally an external doorway. the gate fits perfectly. i've had pet gates before and this one has been the best by far. the previous one only lasted a week before the dog figured out how to open it. thats not happening with this gate. plus the opening is a nice size so if you're carrying stuff you can still get through the gate without having to lift things over. the only fault i've found with it is that the gate only opens one way. i have 5 children so i've bought a few child gates over the years and this pet gate has been the easiest to fit and feels the most secure.
