Acana - the best food
Had a lot of trouble getting my dog's stool to firm up when I brought her home at 14 weeks. Having decided not to feed my dog a junk-food diet (high in carbohydrates like rice and corn etc or animal derivitives and colourings), or an unnatural diet of only dry food, I embarked on a half and half mix of wet and dry. Green Dog dry food finally improved her stool, despite having grains such as oats and barley in it, but I was still looking for a better food. Finally, Acana Ranchlands achieved exactly that. She now has a firm stool, and combined with high protein wet dog food (Ziwipeak, which is supplemented by hard boiled eggs, tinned drained mackerel and sardines and chicken, her stool is perfect. The stool needs to be hard enough to compress the anal glands, so that their fluid content is emptied onto the stool as it passes by just before being deposited.
