48" EXTRA LARGE Rabbit / Guinea Pig Hutch Hutches HUTCH COVER AVAILABLE Run Runs BB-48-DDL-XL-11 SPECIAL PRICE ENDS SUNDAY

Lovely spacious hutch
I recently purchased this hutch for my 2 Lionhead Rabbits which I have adopted from a local animal rescue centre. It arrived quickly and I managed to assemble this quite easily with the help of my 9 year old. It took us approximately 30-40 minutes to put together. What attracted me to this hutch was the fact that the floors upstairs and downstairs are plastic coated and would aid in keeping the hutch as clean as possible. I also liked the fact that the hutch is quite deep compared to others available and a good overall size. Also that it has legs so it is raised off the floor to help the hutch from rotting. When mine arrived the bolts were in a slightly different place than in the photo, but I feel that my bolts are better placed. I have also bought some additional bolts to make it even more secure. When my rescue bunnies arrived they loved their new hutch and have settled in with us very quickly. I also purchased the matching hutch rain cover which is very useful in our rainy climate...
Very cheaply made. RUBBISH.
I have just purchased this hutch as a replacement for our mini lop rabbit to try to give her a little more room to hop around when she can't get out in the winter, I was very disappointed in this it is made from very cheep thin wood and is not very stable at all, I now worry that she is going to be cold and damp was winter approaches that I am looking to purchase a cover to go over this, you are far better off getting someone to make one than purchase one of these, my original hutch was home made and the wood is loads thicker than this one, if your looking for a hutch then this is defiantly one to avoid in my opinion, it's over priced and not worth it can't see it lasting the winter out , that's if it doesn't kill my rabbit first.
Not fit for purpose
This is the second hutch I've had for our rabbits, replacing one of a similar basic design (but a now-defunct company) that lasted five years. We've had this one for a year and I regret every penny and hour spent on it.

The problem is that the hutch is just too light weight and flimsy. The wood itself is ultra light, which needed protecting almost immediately (using plastic corner trimmings) to stop the hutch from being ripped to pieces by our two rexes. The flimsy ramp was destroyed within weeks and needed replacing with something home made. The plastic bases may be easy to clean but they turn the hutch into a paddling pool when the rain gets in. I ended up drilling holes in the bases to let them drain out. The lid has a base of cheap ply-board that has warped after a year and will need replacing before this winter.

Given all these basic problems, which are to do with design and materials, the only explanation I can give for all the five-star ratings here is...
